Teacher Education Partnerships Moray House School of Education and Sport provides excellent professional learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students through highly valued local, national and international partnerships. The School has established partnerships with key local authorities (from the areas listed below) that are closely involved with Moray House in supporting teacher professional learning provision. Those authorities span rural and urban contexts. The teacher and education partnership also works closely with the South East Improvement Collaborative (SEIC) through membership on the SEIC strategic board and representation on the PL & L workstream. Educational Institute of Scotland Role of the Partnership Moray House is committed to collaborative working with local authorities and national bodies (such as the Scottish Government, Education Scotland and the General Teaching Council for Scotland) to enhance career-long professional learning (CLPL) for teachers. Underpinned by our unwavering commitment to social justice practices, through this partnership we aim to be a critical partner in developing and being part of a critically-informed, active learning community for teacher education with colleagues across the schools within our local authority partner areas. We will continue to promote and support the capacity building across the system to provide greater challenge, expectation and quality in teaching and learning to better meet the needs of all children and young people. The University of Edinburgh Teacher Education Partnership Steering Group is working to further develop the following main areas highlighted in the Teaching Scotland’s Future report: Early Career Phase (Initial Teacher Education and Induction) Career Long Professional Learning and Masters study Educational Leadership and Management and Masters study The partnership model is designed to provide high quality professional development and enhanced qualifications for aspirant and practising teachers in all educational settings. Scottish Government funding for Masters-level learning has allowed the Teacher Education Partnership to develop the Masters in Education (Leadership and Learning).
