Our graduates are employed worldwide in all aspects of the Outdoor and Environmental Education sector. They’ve found jobs in residential outdoor education centres, wilderness expeditions and school, college and university programmes. Many of our graduates who return to their previous profession are able to move into a different area of that field thanks to their greater knowledge, experience and qualification.Other roles our graduates have taken up include:conservation work (public and charitable organisations)developing education and environmental policyenvironmental education programmes management development national Outdoor Leadership Schoolnon-profit organisations focused on environmental and/or personal and social developmentorganisations working with marginalised young peopleOutward Boundself-employed in guiding, interpretation and educationsummer camp organisationstherapeutic work with young people and adults.Students who complete the MSc degree can also continue onto advanced research and a possible academic career.Students can attend several Outdoor Learning Practitioner Seminars throughout the year. These seminars, often taught by our graduates, offer vital insights and guidance into working in the outdoors. The programme’s placement component offers other chances to network, depending on the placement.The programme does not offer a formal teaching qualification.
