New terms added to the British Sign Language glossary!

Dr Audrey Cameron collaborated with Scottish Sensory Centre and The Royal Society in this project to create further inclusion in this vital topic of discussion.

In an interview with the BBC Dr Audrey Cameron, leader of the sign language project and chancellor’s fellow at Moray House, discusses the new terms within the British Sign Language (BSL) glossary and her own personal experiences throughout her career.

The BSL glossary now includes 200 additional terms related to environmental science. The work led by deaf scientists and sign language experts has made communicating these terms more accessible for scientists, children and teachers, allowing them to be included in conversations regarding biodiversity and the environment.
