Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC) release a report commissioned by the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH). Last year PAHRC researchers, commissioned by the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH), conducted research on physical activity, mental health, and menopause. Over 1000 women participated in the study and shared their experiences of this life-stage. Working with SAMH, the findings were collated with recommendations on supporting women to be physically active and enhance mental well-being during this stage of life. The research report launched at an event in Edinburgh and opened by the Minister for Public Health and Women’s Health Jenni Minto, with over 60 stakeholders in attendance. Professor Ailsa Niven and Dr Claire Fitzsimons spoke at the event outlining the key findings from the research. We have felt hugely privileged that more than 1000 women have participated and generously shared their experiences on this topic.
