New research report commissioned by the British Council, recognising the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. Professor Dr Grant Jarvie, Director of the Academy of Sport at the University, launched a research report commissioned by the British Council, recognising the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. Through research, Professor Jarvie explores different thematic areas connected to the work of the British Council and examining the use of sport to enable cultural relations and peacebuilding. The report studies the use of sport to build these relations throughout Non-government Organisations (NGOs), national institutes for culture, and sports organisations. It highlights sports development value and suggests that sport can be used as a tool in advancing cultural connections, locally and globally.
