What to do before arriving in Edinburgh and commencing your studies.

To help you prepare best for your MSc, your Programme Director has identified some pre-reading materials which will give you a head start on your programme. They are all available in the university library.
On behalf of the MSc TESOL Programme team, I extend a warm welcome to you new students who will be joining us in September. One of the things that makes the MSc TESOL Programme at the University of Edinburgh successful is that your active involvement as students is a motivator for us staff members. We will do everything in our power to ensure that you benefit from your learning journey with us. It is our intention that this coming year makes a significant academic contribution to your life. We will work side-by-side with you to provide whatever support you need for success in your studies.
The following pages contain important information to help you prepare for your studies. In particular, the Pre-arrival section describes your immediate next steps and how to connect with your cohort peers. On this page you will find an Option Course choice form which you need to complete by 4 September. The Key Dates section describes the unique aspects of our programme induction and will have dates and times for these essential events.
I encourage you to explore the opportunities that our programme offers in developing your knowledge base and skills, and look forward to working together with you!
The postgraduate taught programmes (PGT) are supported by a dedicated Administration and Support Team.
Our Postgraduate support service teams play a pivotal role in all aspects of your experience studying with us, ranging from student support and general guidance, providing course material, timetables and importantly, getting marks out to you.
These teams will guide you through your time at Edinburgh, from the moment you join us at Welcome Week, until your graduation day. Support continues after graduation, as you will always have a friendly face to greet you and helpful assistance when you need it as a member of our alumni community.
