Speaker biography

Dr Lam is an Applied Linguist whose current research centres around:

  • teaching and assessing interactional competence, particularly interactive listening
  • applying Conversation Analysis (CA) in language teaching, teacher education, and examiner training
  • engaging stakeholders in language assessment literacy for university admissions

He is the Deputy Leader for the Cultures, Literacies, Inclusion and Pedagogy (CLIP) Research and Teaching Group and serves as an Editorial Board member in three journals: Language Testing, Language Assessment Quarterly, and Classroom Discourse.
